Day 15
From Inside Anemone Cave. Note the swallows flying in.
Sea Anemones in the tide pool. I have been coming here since 1971 and the anemone's have declined in the pool. The park used to have Anemone Cave listed in the park literature but for years now they make no mention of it for the sake of the anemones.
The cave from outside.
The east side of Acadia on Mount Desert Island. I took a couple of hours hiking, contemplating along the shore away from the roads and trails. Didn't see another person the whole time, other than in a couple of boats passing by.
Cormorant just off shore.
The churning Atlantic straight down below, on a calm day.
Distant Egg Rock Lighthouse in Frenchman's Bay.
The ever present Herring Gulls.
Washed up lobstering bouys.
Young white birch woods.
Carriage Trail bridge over Duck Brook.
